Birth Doula

What is a Doula?

A Doula is an experienced, non-medical, professional that works to enhance the childbirth experience for the mother, her partner, and her family through compassion and support.

She provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, and assists the mother in getting the information she needs to make informed decisions about her and her baby's care.

The Doula also assists the woman and her partner in preparing for and carrying out their specific wishes and plans for the birth of their child.

Amy received her training through Doulas of North America in January 2007.

Services

Interviews are conducted in person so both parties can get a sense of compatibility in birth philosophies and styles. This interview is approximately 60 minutes in length and is scheduled at the office. Please call to set up your interview appointment: 617-794-4755.

Reflexology-Birth Doula Package
Combine the benefits of Reflexology throughout your pregnancy with the care and support of a Doula during your labor. This package includes six (6) one-hour reflexology sessions to be used during your pregnancy and up to six weeks postpartum, plus reflexology during your labor (as appropriate).

Birth Doula
When you contract Amy as your birth doula you can expect two prenatal visits, unlimited email and phone support up to four weeks postpartum, 24 hour on-call status for the four weeks surrounding your estimated due date, continuous labor support when you call Amy and a prenatal visit in the first few weeks home.
